The graduate student intern will spend one year working on public interest policy issues on the staff of the Public Interest Government Relations Office (PI-GRO) of the American Psychological Association (APA). PI-GRO helps to formulate and implement APA positions on major federal policy initiatives of importance to psychology in the public interest.

APA members who also are members of the Association for Psychological Science; the Society for Neuroscience; any one of the organizations that are part of the Federation for the Advancement of Behavioral and Brain Sciences; any state, provincial and territorial psychological association; and the four ethnic minority psychological associations recognizedby APA, will be entitled to a $25 credit against their APA base dues beginningin 2012.  The effect of these changes will be studied with a report backto Council in 2014.
