Job Announcement: Clinical Psychologist (Staff Psychologist)
The Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons is hiring for clinical psychologists at the Federal Correctional Complex in Yazoo City, MS. The open period for the vacancy announcement is January 24,2020 to 11:59 p.m EST on February 7,2020. There are four vacancies to be filled at the GS-12 level ($76,721 - $99,741) with a paid relocation. These positions do not require a license. There is also a 10-point veteran's preference. The ideal candidate must have a completed Counseling Psychology or Clinical Psychology Doctoral degree or within months of completing all the requirements for the degree. Bilingual staff (English/Spanish) is encourage to apply.
Incentives of up 25% has been approved for retention. FCC Yazoo City has a HPSA score of 21 which makes a licensed provider eligible for $50K for a 2 year commitment, through the National Health Services Corps, towards student loan repayment. Supervision by a Licensed Psychologist or an LPC-S available for those who are considering EPPP or the NCE. The Psychology Services Branch also provides yearly training budget to purchase study materials for the licensing examination.
The Federal Correctional Complex in Yazoo City, MS. is a Care1-MH facility Complex with four security levels (Low, Camp, Med, and USP) and have one Residential Drug Abuse Program at the Low Institution. It is located about 3 hours from New Orleans and Biloxi, two hours from Memphis, and quick drives to Dallas, Houston, and Atlanta. The areas of Ridgeland and Madison are rapidly growing, with great schools districts along with Rankin County and the City of Clinton.
